Plagiarism Policy
The Universidad & Ciencia journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity and the originality of all published works. To achieve this, we implement a rigorous anti-plagiarism policy using advanced tools such as Plagiarism Checker and Zerogpt to ensure that all manuscripts are original and unpublished.
Verification Process
- Pre-Review Detection: All manuscripts will be analyzed by anti-plagiarism software before the peer review process begins. This analysis aims to detect similarities and ensure that the submitted content has not been previously published in any format.
- Similarity Thresholds:
If the similarity report is equal to or greater than 20%, authors will be notified via email, with the full report and expert commentary attached.
Authors will have the opportunity to respond and clarify any issues detected, allowing the journal to determine whether it is a case of plagiarism or if the matches are properly cited.
- Actions in Case of Plagiarism:
If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarism, it will be rejected for evaluation.
In cases where similarities are below 20%, the manuscript may proceed to review, provided the matches are adequately justified.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that:
- The submitted content is original and has not been simultaneously submitted to another journal.
- Any previously published work is clearly indicated, and new versions must offer substantial updates.
Consequences of Plagiarism
The journal will take serious action against any form of plagiarism, including the possible withdrawal of the article if plagiarism is confirmed after publication. This includes notifying the relevant institutions of any detected violations.
