Fibratank tanks for fuel storage in service centers of CIMEX Ciego de Avila branch

Abstract

In the 1990s, the Import and Export Corporation (CIMEX) was given responsibility for the fuel rearrangement process and in November 2012 was assigned the transfer of all service centers. In general, these facilities do not have the capacity for the demand for fuels and the variety of the product, they do not comply with environmental regulations and fire protection standards, in addition to having iron tanks that, in several cases, do not they are buried Tanks with a high degree of corrosion and a shorter useful life. For these reasons and in the desire to search for new state-of-the-art technologies to provide solutions to the problems presented, the implementation of the Fibratank technology begins in our country and, specifically, in the Ciego de Ávila Branch, due to its recognized advantages in the protection enviroment. Fibratank fuel storage tanks are for underground storage, with single and double walls (these with a dry interstitial space), in fiberglass. In this work, constructive experiences of Fibratank fuel storage tanks are shown, highlighting the problems presented, where technical-constructive measures and recommendations are proposed to improve this construction process in service centers.
