The Artificial Intelligence and its impact on today´s society

Abstract

Introduction: The development of Artificial Intelligence has expanded beyond the professional and workplace setting and has become a social phenomenon. Objective: To analyze the impact of the use of Artificial Intelligence in all the society ´s areas, as well as to identify an ethical framework for the appropriate use of this technology. Method: A bibliographic review or bibliometric method and documentary analysis were used to gather information, primarily from the Redalyc, Scielo, and Dialnet databases, on the following topics: History and emergence of AI, Characteristics of AI, Reasons for the relevance of AI, The impact of AI on society, and Ethics for the use of AI. Results: 60 % to the literature reviewed unquestionably supports the use of AI and its implementation in many sectors of society, although with strict control by all the factors involved, with 40 % reporting concern about its use. Conclusion: It is essential not to turn our backs on AI. Understanding this complex and fascinating world is the first step. The next step must be education and communication from the family and other social environments about the management and understanding of this technology. Maintaining a balance between education and the management of our children's privacy so that, from childhood, each individual learns to responsibly handle all technology for mutual benefit.
