Introduction: Aggregates are essential in mixtures, they are the most commonly used materials in construction, the granulometric distribution in the dosages directly influences the quality, workability and subsequent resistance of cement mortars. The aggregates used by the Provincial Construction Company in the province of Ciego de Ávila do not have adequate quality, as they present high waste in the processes of repair and maintenance of homes, which translates into non-compliance with plans and considerable economic losses. Objective: The research is carried out with the aim of analyzing the granulometry of the aggregates used in the company and determining the percentage of losses obtained when sifting these materials. Method: In this work, the granulometric analysis of the aggregates is carried out in accordance with the main regulations, evaluating different physical parameters of natural sand and stone dust through laboratory tests. Results: The test results show that the fineness modulus is deficient for the aggregates analyzed, making it necessary to sieve mainly the stone dust, which leads to the low performance of these materials. Conclusions: It is proven that the aggregates supplied by the Materials Industry do not comply with the quality parameters specified in the Cuban Standards, showing a non-compliant granulometric distribution and with a predominance of the coarse fraction. When sifting the aggregate to bring it to an adequate granulometry, waste of approximately 20% is obtained, increasing the consumption of these materials.
