Abstract

Teramnus labialis (L.f.) Spreng is a forage legume that is used as animal feed (sheep, goats, horses and cattle) and cover crop on various fruit trees (guava and citrus). However, after germination the establishment period becomes difficult due to the slow growth of the plants. Seed conditioning treatments are an alternative to solve these problems. The objective of this work was to determine the effect of four beneficial autochthonous microorganisms (BAMs) in T. labialis seeds germination and vigor. The effect of four BAMs concentrations (0, 5, 10 and 15 %) and two priming times (3 and 6 h) was evaluated. After seven days, germination was evaluated, several calculations associated with the vigor of the seeds were made. BAMs concentrations between 5 and 10 % for 3 hours increased the germination percentage and vigor in T. labialis seeds. While concentrations of BAMs at 15 % decreased the percentage of germination compared with the control treatment, which shows harmful effects for the seeds germination.
