Sections and types of articles published in EGU:

1. Scientific and Technological Research Article Understood as a report published for the first time that presents the results of innovative research or study. It is written by the researchers who conducted the work. Its main purpose is to clearly and precisely describe both the process and the findings, detailing the methodology, results, and their analysis and interpretation—all to contribute to knowledge in a specific area of science.

2. Review Article This type of scientific publication does not present original research but instead compiles, analyzes, synthesizes, and critically discusses published information on a specific topic. It offers an overview of the current state of knowledge in that area. Its fundamental objective is to summarize what is known about a topic, identify research gaps, discuss current debates, and suggest future research directions—thus facilitating understanding of the field for other professionals and academics.
