Abstract

The following work addresses the actions undertaken by the Florence University Branch to achieve the training of competent professionals from an inclusive and equitable perspective, for sustainable development. Emphasis is placed on the role played by all the organizations and institutions of the community to contribute to this objective, taking into account that it is fundamentally in this stage, where the professionals trained in the heat of this universe, will carry out their main work activities.The priority of the investigative and innovative component, inherent to the management of knowledge about energy, food production and other topics contained in our Local Development Strategy, as well as the participation of students in events, developed by Universitary Center and  the municipality  is deepened,  moreover the selection of their investigations at different levels, both provincial and national.The characteristics of the teaching model in the municipalization of the university and its distinctive elements are addressed. The characteristics of distance education, the Chair for the Elderly and the perspectives of Cuban higher education in the new millennium are also valued.
