Visibilidade da produção científica da Universidade de San Carlos da Guatemala

Introdução: a produção científica é um indicador chave do desempenho e da qualidade acadêmica das universidades, sendo um fator determinante para sua visibilidade. Objetivo: analisar a produção científica na Universidade de San Carlos da Guatemala (USAC) com base em indicadores qualitativos como o número de citações, afiliação, colaboração internacional, participação em redes de pesquisa, resultados em rankings globais e a qualidade da produção científica. Metodologia: abordagem qualitativa, design documental e análise de conteúdo. Foram examinadas bases de dados bibliográficas, relatórios de autoavaliação institucional e rankings internacionais para identificar tendências e determinar o impacto das ações implementadas pela USAC nos últimos anos. Resultados: embora a USAC tenha aumentado sua visibilidade em certos departamentos, ainda enfrenta desafios significativos quanto ao número de citações e sua presença em revistas de alto impacto. A afiliação e a colaboração internacional melhoraram, mas são necessárias estratégias mais robustas para garantir o cumprimento dos indicadores de qualidade e melhorar a posição da universidade nos rankings globais. Conclusão: A USAC tem potencial para aumentar sua visibilidade através de sua produção científica, devendo focar na melhoria da qualidade de suas publicações, no fortalecimento da colaboração internacional e na participação em redes de pesquisa.
